DIGITAL NATIVES
They were born in the digital world.
They had grown up with new technology. They learn how to use them
instinctively. Technology is the integral part of their lives. They are used to
receive all information very fast they like parallel process and multitask.
They have perfected new skills as means of interaction and practice. They have
no patience for lectures .Their natural word includes cyber words. They prefer
the internet to read text books. They prefer to talk via chats, text, or
messaging through social media. They text more than call. They prefer
asynchronous communication.
DIGITAL IMMIGRANTS
They were born in the pre digital era.
They learn how to use technology device when they grow up. They adopt the use
of technological device. They learn new language. Not all people learn it at
the same level. They are not used at receiving information very fast. They need
time to process. They need to practice a lot in order to improve their skills.
They are used to lectures. Their language rarely contains words related to
technology. They also use internet to read books, but most of them prefer books
from library. They prefer to talk in person or on the phone. They don’t text or
only sparingly. They prefer synchronous. They receive information logically and
sequentially.
